030 Spectre – Federico Garcia Lorca Centre, Granada
Theatrical space as a void — After the list of the protagonists of the play "The House of Bernarda Alba", Federico García Lorca suggests in his comment that it's three acts should be conceived of as "a precise photographic documentation". Public buildings have a quality of staging civic life. By choosing a void of almost the size of the competition site "spectre" places an emblematic space as an instrument of interaction between the foundation and the city's community. This void in the heart of the city of Granada can be seen as a lens, a mirror, a stage receiving and projecting image and content simultaneously. This in it's reflections endless vertical space is the theatrical continuity of the Plaza de la Romanilla: it projects the centre's activities back into city life; the city and the nearby cathedral leave their image on the surfaces reflected as a multiple appearing in vision.
